Norimatsu and Tetsuda first met at Okayama University Modern Dance Club in Japan. After graduation,
they started “FUTOME Performance” in Nagoya in 2009. Most of their performances have been
choreographed and directed by Norimatsu since then.
Armed with their amiable character and powers, they have been appearing at a broad range of venues from
small local events to theatrical stages, exploring potential of what they can express through dance based on
their motto “fun”.
From 2012 onwards, they are based in Fukuoka, travelling anywhere if asked - from domestic and
international dance festivals to local pubs. In May 2017, they held the second independent show A Bubble
That Won't Rise (directed by Momoko Shiraga, choreographed by Kaoru Norimatsu) in Fukuoka.
Their awards include Audience Award at Fukuoka Dance Fringe Festival vol.11, Grand Prize at SAI Dance
Festival 2018 and Encouragement Prize at Yokohama Dance Collection 2019.
2019 marks the 10th anniversary of Futome Performance, and they are looking forward to stepping up to
the next level. The motto this year is “absorb”.
Norimatsu participated in American Dance Festival 2012 (the United States) and Vertigo International
Dance Program 2013 (Israel).
In 2013, she launched a dance project “OTORIYOSE KIKAKU” with two fellow dancers and holds a dance
event on an annual basis. They staged Love and Estrangement at the Dance Selection project organized by
Aichi Prefectural Art Theater in October 2018.
She is one of the finalists of Toyota Choreography Award 2014.
